KORU GATE |
1553 |
"Koru Gate" is an extension of the Braille Art Concept into tactile art. Art that can be touched and "seen" by visually impaired and sighted viewers. The Koru is a symbol adopted by the New Zealand Maori as a symbol signifying new life or rebirth. The shape is derived from the seed head of the New Zealand fern. This natural symbol is married in this work with the European gate that divides neighbour from neighbour, and the ubiquitous corrugated iron also used in European construction is in the fun title. The piece measures 350mm x 670mm

BE AMAZING |
1574 |
This multi media "Braille Art" work was inspired by the name of my partner's life coaching group, "Be Amazing". You can see or feel your way around the maze from the entrance on the left, and wend your way eventually to the exit on the bottom right. On the way you may find the bee that is hiding there in the maze. Do both and you too can "Bee Amazing". The work measures 560mm x 390mm.
